Record details
The entry, in the Musical Instruments section between Regina Music Box Co. and Roth & Englehardt, reads "Reindahl & Dabbs, Chicago, Ill. Violins." — Dabbs, against the Dubbs printed in the firm's own advertising. The variant is recorded, not harmonised. Two things weaken this page. The catalogue was revised repeatedly through the fair's run (May-November 1901) and the firm's entry belongs to one state of it only: two other digitised printings were downloaded whole and grepped for every spelling variant, and it is absent from both. And this project's two passes over the page grade it differently — research file 14 recovered it as two overlapping search-index windows and asked for a page-image check; research file 13 records it transcribed from the page scan at pg PA113. The stronger grade is entered here and the weaker one is stated in this sentence. No stand code is visible for the firm in either recovered window, and no award to it at Buffalo has been found in any source searched.
