Record details
The printed heading was never recovered; the title given here is a description of the item, not its headline, and the quotation marks around it are the citation formatter's, not the volume's. Read as three separate search-index fragments, with no folio and no page image. Between them they give: violin study under Herman Braun of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and then in the artist class of S. E. Jacobsohn; entry to Lyon & Healy's musical literature department "about 1891"; transfer to the violin department "(about 1895)"; twenty-five years' acquaintance with the instruments passing through the Lyon & Healy collection; and promotion to general manager of the violin department in the middle of November. The occasion of the notice is the promotion, so the volume is being read as trade-press copy about a man his own firm had just advanced.
