Record details

A county history’s biographical volume; sketches of this era were customarily supplied by the subjects or their families and printed without verification. Read from the archive.org machine text, not the page images — every printed digit is one letterform from doubt. The sketch of Nels K. Reindahl of Dunkirk township (pp. 741–42) gives his birth as 25 April 1819 and then, two sentences on, has him immigrating in 1868 “at the age of nineteen years” — the sketch contradicts itself, and no page image has been read to settle what the print actually says. It names his church at Stoughton, a second wife Elsa Ondahl, and four children: Kittel, Ole, Nora and Enoch.
