Record details
A Norwegian-language church weekly, read from the page image. The obituary carries no survivor line naming brothers: it closes “Hr. Reindahl efterlater sig hustru og otte barn” — leaves wife and eight children — followed by a rule. A survivor line naming “two brothers, Knute Reindahl, violin maker, at Blooming Grove, and Nels Reindahl of Stoughton” was once attributed to this page on this site; the page image shows no such line, and the attribution has been withdrawn — the brotherhood is carried by Felland (1940) instead. What the obituary does attest: Thrond Kittelsen Reindahl born on the Reindahl farm in Mo, Telemarken, 25 November 1844; the family’s move to Slettetvedt; his emigration in 1866; the father Kittel’s death two years later — 1868, against the Mo burial register’s 1866, where the register, a contemporary manuscript, is the stronger source and 1866 stands — and the widow’s crossing with the other children in 1869; his wife Ingeborg Mosli.
