Record details
The leaf, not the volume: the plate page facing p. 256, a row of label facsimiles numbered 851–859, read from the Google Books page images. The numbers were recovered by two independent readings of the page image on 12 August 2026: 851 Victor Carroll Squier (No. 695, Anno 1928); 852 Knute Reindahl (#570, October 1928); 853 J. E. Harris, Gateshead, England (blank form); 854 Wilhelm Otto, Düsseldorf, 1928 (manuscript); 855 Homer B. Turrell (Medora, Indiana, No 23, 1928); 856 A. H. Seymour (Lincoln, Neb., No. 58, Made Anno 1926); 857 V. L. Schwenk (Chicago — the label the seeding pass misread as “V. L. Schmidt”); 858 Geo. S. Conway (Newark, O., 1928); 859 W. King (Hamilton, Canada, 1928). The volume’s own text entries cross-reference facsimiles 855 (2:244), 856 (2:238) and 857 (2:236–37) by number, confirming the assignments. Page images and enlarged crops are held in this project's archive The text entry at 2:231 is Reindahl’s and attests nothing about the other labels; a label claim should cite the plate page rather than that entry. The text volume is set two columns to a page with documented column bleed — check any reading from the text pages against the adjacent column.

Everyone this source names
This document prints 11 names. A name found this way is the weakest thing this site records: the book names the person, and nothing more is said. It is not a line in a record — the lines that actually rest on this source are listed above, each with its own confidence. 2 of the names below reach a record on this site; lines from this source have been written for 0. The rest are names and nothing else — which is an honest description of the evidence, and an invitation: if you know one of these makers, we want to hear from you.
