    2. Ein K. Cellier lebte Anfangs der vierziger Jahre des 19. Jahrhunderts in Hamburg; schon 1844 heisst die Firma „Cellier & Sohn“, auch „Cellier & fils“ und 1855 nur F. Cellier. Der Letzgenannte war wohl der Sohn. Ihre Arbeiten sind nicht schlecht, am besten ihre Violoncelli.

    6. Der Vater des berühmten Goldschmieds und Erzgiessers etc. Benvenuto Cellini. Ursprünglich Architect, wie sein Vater, verlegte er sich — ein echter Renaissance-Mensch — auf viele Künste, ward Rathspfeifer und wollte auch aus Benvenuto einen Musiker machen. Dieser schreibt von ihm in seiner Autobiographie: „Mein Vater machte zu selbiger (um 1505) wundersame Orgeln mit hölzernen Pfeifen, Klaviere, so schön und gut, als man sie damals nur sehen konnte, Violen, Lauten und Harfen auf das Beste… Er arbeitete wundersam in Elfenbein und war der Erste, der in dieser Kunst etwas leistete.“

    1. Ein K. Cellier lebte anfangs der vierziger Jahre des 19. Jahrhunderts in Hamburg; schon 1844 heißt die Firma »Cellier & Sohn«, auch »Cellier & fils« und 1855 nur F. Cellier. Der letztgenannte war wohl der Sohn, der aber noch 1864 die Firma J. Cellier & Fils angewendet hat. Die Arbeiten mit ihren Zetteln sind nicht schlecht, am besten die Violoncelli. Doch scheinen diese öfters von anderen Geigenmachern (J. J. C. Sauke u. a.) gebaut zu sein, oder aus Mirecourt zu stammen.
