    2. Dominicelli (Dominelli). A maker in Ferrara about 1695-1715, who first studied in Brescia, possibly under G. B. Rogeri. He copied the Amati pattern with great ability, using varnish of a golden-yellow colour, which was very effective.

    1. DODD, Thomas, third son of Edward Dodd. Employed Bernhard Fendt and Lott; proud of his varnish; an all-round man, and dealer in all sorts of instruments; violoncellos fetch £50.
    2. DODD, Edward and Thomas, sons of Thomas Dodd, sen. Both learnt from Bernhard Fendt, and carried on the business at St Martin's Lane.
    3. DOMINICELLI (Domincelli). Ferrara, 1695-1715; studied in Brescia; copied the Amati pattern; varnish of a golden colour.

    2. Als Geigenmacher und Reparateur mehrfach erwähnt, so auch bei Valdrighi (879).

    5. Vielleicht ein Schüler der Amati, an deren Arbeit die seine stark erinnert. Ob er in Verona selbst thätig war, ist noch nicht nachgewiesen, doch ist es wahrscheinlich (seine Zettel geben auch Verona nur als seine Heimath an).
    7. Dominicus, Joannes. — Rom. 1570 (?).
