    2. Lignoli, Andrea. A maker in Florence in the 17th century.
    4. Lilly, James. An English maker, working in 1821.
    6. Linarolo (Linerolli), Francesco. The first maker in the family. Worked in Bergamo, later in Venice. A tenor-viol was labelled "Franciscus Linarolus Bergomensis Venetii faciebat." Was probably the maker of an "accordo" dated 1514, beautifully made, the back inlaid with tortoiseshell.
