Bow & Bridge Violin and bow makers, as the old books printed them

Vaillant, François (merged into Vaillant, François)

Merged. This record and Vaillant, François were predicted to be one person on 1 October 2026 by the identity rules, read against the printed entries, at the level “certain”. That is a statistical prediction a person has not yet audited, and it is reversible. Every claim this record carried has been moved there, and every mention that pointed here now points there.

The identical entry printed in two editions of one dictionary (the 1896 edition and the undated later Novello reissue) — rule D2, corrected on 30 Sep 2026 from D4, which wrongly called the two copies of one edition: “Vaillant (Vaillot, or Vaillaut), François. A maker in Paris, who, according to his labels, was living in the rue de la Juiverie, 1736-38, and according to the old …”. Way back: wp bb duplicates unmerge vaillant-fran-ois-7 –allow-published –apply.

The two printed entries were compared on what they state — years, places, named relations, addresses — and the prediction carries both quoted passages so that a person can read them and disagree. The complete pre-merge state of both records is preserved in this project’s archive of withdrawn records, kept deliberately apart from the live records so that no import can resurrect it. The source material was not touched: every scan, transcript and mention of either name remains in the corpus.
