1PREFACE
3In presenting the Fifty-Ninth Annual Edition of the City of Hamilton Directory, we thank the business men and patrons in general for the liberal and enthusiastic support they have given us.
5The number of names in the Alphabetical Section is 74,117. Wives' names approximate 30,000 making a grand total of 104,117 names in this section of the Directory.
7The Street Directory shows some 41,500 listings including Householders, Firms, Offices, Buildings and Institutions. Our estimate of the population of the City proper is 163,825 an increase over last year of 2,853.
9There are a number of persons whose names are in the directory who just live outside the city limits, and others who live in nearby municipalities who are employed in Hamilton, these names approximate 2,600, so the residential and working population of Greater Hamilton is 166,425.
