CHAPTER XXIII
LITERATURE RELATING TO THE VIOLIN
Literature regarding the violin, dealing with its construction, makers, players and music, is very extensive. Most of these works cover only a single phase and many of the most important books are written in foreign languages and have never been translated into English.
Students or violin lovers who wish to consult such works will find it a difficult task to locate copies of them, except where they have been translated into English and are available through music or book sellers, or where those who seek the books reside in large musical centers where there are important libraries of music or musical literature.
In connection with libraries it will be quite relevant to list the important institutions of this kind in the United States.
