4This Directory is a BUYERS' GUIDE containing Classified Lists of Business and Professional subscribers to the New York Telephone Company's service. Their names are arranged in alphabetical order under headings generally descriptive of the commodities or services which they offer.
6It's easy to find—"Where to buy it"
8To find where to buy products or services—
9First, Locate the classification which describes the product or service desired. For your convenience an alphabetical index of classifications begins on the opposite page.
11Then, select the individual or concern you wish to deal with. The advertisements in the vicinity of the classification will usually provide additional and more complete buying information.
13To find where to buy a trade marked or branded article—
14Trade names of registered articles or services may be found in one of two ways, as follows:
151. The trade mark or brand name is shown in alphabetical order in the listing column under a heading descriptive of the business or service, or
162. The trade mark or brand name is listed as a heading in its alphabetical order.
18To find telephone numbers of business or professional people whose names are known to you—
19First, Locate the classification descriptive of the general type of business or profession.
20Then, In its alphabetical order will be found the name of the individual or concern desired.
22IF YOU CAN'T FIND what you want—call MU ray Hill 4-7000 (The Reuben H. Donnelley Corporation) and ask for "BUYERS' SERVICE." They will be glad to tell you where you can obtain it.
