13These seventeen transcriptions of airs by the great master form an admirable introduction to the classical style in violin playing. They have never before been arranged for the violin, and the transcriptions, by a European widely known as supreme in this field, are masterly. The numbers include ten dance tunes, from the French and English Suites, arrangements of five Piano Preludes, and two Choral Preludes.

18Size, 9 1/4 x 12 1/4; ii + 32 pp.; violin part, 16 pp.; paper 1.25
19A set of violin pieces for advanced pupils or for concert use. While they have exceptional value for teaching, in the matter of training for style and interpretation, they were composed primarily for purely musical ends, are poetic in conception and content, and thoroughly violinistic in form and expression. The titles all relate to nature and life in the country.

26These graceful, pleasing and eminently practical little pieces form a mile-stone in the course of the violin student. They are a delightful aid in establishing the fundamental habits involved in ordinary solo playing.

44A work which displays constructive power and vigorous imagination of a high order. Each movement is interesting, and the last with its folk-rhythms gives a note of place. Though dedicated to Ossip Gabrilowitsch and Theodore Spiering, the work is within the capabilities of any competent players, and is recommended to all in search of fresh concert material from an American Composer.
