11JOSEPH PANORMA, LONDON, ABOUT 1815
12Number 5150. Joseph Panorma was the son of Vincenzo Panorma, a very celebrated Italian maker who worked both in Paris and London. Joseph's work is similar in model and general character to that of his father, but lacks the fine artistic touch which Vincenzo gave his instruments. This violin is built on a broad, flat pattern, of most excellent wood, and is covered by a deep red varnish. It is in a perfect state of preservation, and has a large, robust, brilliant tone.
