1VI.—HEINRICH KARL HERMANN DE AHNA.
3BORN 22nd June, 1835, in Vienna, de Ahna lived a very active life, not only in the service of Polyhymnia, but also in that of the god of war. In early youth he devoted himself to music and studied successively under Josef Mayseder in Vienna, and Moritz Mildner in Prague; when but a mere youth of twelve he was prompted to undertake a concert-tour, and when fourteen he was actually appointed chamber-virtuoso to the Duke of Coburg-Gotha. It is perhaps not unworthy of note that the above mentioned tour extended as far as London.
