1MATURE MASTERS—Continued.
3Mr. Spiering has given us modern master revisions of such representative violin works as Saint-Saëns' Concerto in A major (Op. 20), Bruch's Romanze (Op. 42) and the Fantasie on Scottish Folk-melodies, Nardini's Sonata in D major, Mozart's Sixth Concerto in E flat Major, Vieuxtemps' First Concerto in E major (Op. 10) Tschaikowsky's elaborate Valse Scherzo, and Grieg's three Violin and Piano Sonatas, Op. 8, 13 and 45.
5In point of artistic reading, interpretative clarity, and authoritative disposition of phrasing, bowing and fingering, these editions are representative of the most advanced methods of our time.

9As further proof of the thoroughness with which the above editions have been prepared, I must not forget to mention that the piano parts of the Beethoven and Brahms Sonatas (mentioned among Auer's revisions) as well as the three above-mentioned Grieg Sonatas have been prepared under the editorial supervision of Rudolf Ganz, one of the foremost concert-pianists now in America.
