Hill & Sons' assistance and counsel, and the works of Fétis, Vidal, George Hart, Heron-Allen, and Mr. Fleming, I could not have written this book at all. The preceding list of makers has been largely adopted from Miss Stainer's elaborate Music Primer, "Violin Makers," published by Novello.
