10BUYERS' GUIDE (page 25)—Advertisements of leading houses in all lines where more information than is possible to give under the headings, is placed on file for Buyers' Reference, the value of which department cannot be over estimated. It is an index to the best interests of the city, and stands for them and the city in reference libraries all over the country as well as on the desks of progressive business men. It is accessible to everybody and the logical place to look for specific information. This probably explains why no other form of publicity is so greatly endorsed by business men as a glance at this department will show.
12ALPHABETICAL SECTION—Plainfield (page 45), Westfield (page 689), Scotch Plains (page 965), Fanwood (page 997), Dunellen (page 889), gives names, occupations and addresses of all men twenty years old or over, together with wife's name where married, also widows with given name of husband. Full copartnership and corporation information is contained in this department, together with complete business and professional information. Names in large type are those who realize the value of placing themselves where they may be speedily and conveniently found.
14STREET and AVENUE GUIDE, Plainfield (page 17), Westfield (page 683), Scotch Plains (page 961), Fanwood (page 995), Dunellen (page 887), showing all streets and avenues with starting point.
16CLASSIFIED BUSINESS DIRECTORY (page 1015). All business houses, individuals in business for themselves, and professional men are listed without charge under the heading that best describes them. The more progressive houses, realizing that it pays to be easily found, pay a nominal charge for special listings in heavy type, under every heading where a buyer might look for them, cross indexed to a descriptive space in the Buyers' Guide. More goods are bought and sold through classified Directories than through any other medium.
