Beside these, flourished the families of the Guarneri and Ruger, followed by the Guadagnini and Berganzi, each of which probably existed throughout a century. In Brescia, we meet with the families of Maggini and Zanetto; in Milan, of the Grancini, and Testore; in Venice, of the Novellos, Tononi, and Gofriller; while, in Naples, the Gagliani have continued to exist from the 17th century to the present day—latterly, however, only as string manufacturers.
