1INTRODUCTION
3THE 1922-1923 edition of R. L. Polk & Co.'s. Utah State Gazetteer & Business Directory is herewith presented by the publishers with the confident belief that the information embraced in its pages will be found as complete and accurate as can reasonably be expected in a work covering such an extensive field and containing such a vast amount of information. It is the only publication giving information regarding every city, town, village, hamlet and settlement in the state as well as showing the business and professional interests of each. It contains a complete list of the farmers and land owners arranged by counties giving the number of acres owned, the valuation of the acreage and the post office address which is a most reliable list for circulating purposes as well as for general information covering the territory outside of the towns and cities of the state.
5The Gazetteer takes its standing side by side with all other modern conveniences in the business world. It is a public necessity. The information it contains cannot be found elsewhere. It is a book which cannot be replaced by any other and it is alike useful to both the cities of the state for which it is published and the strangers who have occasion to consult it. To gather the data for a Gazetteer requires at the head of the undertaking, one having experience and a goodly supply of capital.
7We wish to acknowledge with thanks the co-operation extended to all those assisting us in gathering together the vast amount of data necessary for the compilation of this volume and also to thank our patrons for their generous support in subscribing to the publication.
