    7. Dieulafait. A viol maker, working in Paris in 1720, this date, with his name, being in a 17th century bass-viol that he had restored. It is now in the Paris Conservatoire Collection.

    1. Zweiter Sohn von Martin und Bruder von Nikolaus D. Jedenfalls der Bedeutendste von den in Mainz ansässigen Mitgliedern der Familie Diehl. Seine Violinen (meist nach Stradivari gemacht) wurden ihm schon bei Lebzeiten mit 66 fl., Violoncelli mit 121 fl. und seine Violen, zu denen er gerne Zitronenholz verwendete, mit 88 fl. bezahlt. Sein Lack ist goldgelb.

    5. Geboren in Mainz, Schüler und Schwiegersohn von Nikolaus Dopfer. Während seiner elfjährigen Wanderschaft kam er zuerst nach Aschaffenburg, soll dann in Tirol und Österreich gewesen sein und arbeitete als Gehilfe bei Carl Helmer in Prag, brachte es aber trotzdem zu keiner besonderen Geschicklichkeit. Er starb nach der ersten Belagerung von Mainz durch die Franzosen, also um 1794.
