    2. Lafranchini, Jacobo de. Was apprenticed to Gasparo da Salò at the same time as Maggini, and afterwards (1615) was living with Maggini as workman and assistant.
    4. Lagetto, Louis. An Italian maker who was working in Paris, 1745-53, at the sign of "La ville de Crémone" in the rue des Saints-Pères. He followed the pattern of Andrea Amati, using spirit varnish; his instruments were much liked. Label: "Louis Lagetto, luthier rue des Saints-Pères faubourg Saint-Germain à Paris, 1753.
