CAPP, GOFFREDO, Saluzzo, b. Saluzzo, 1644, d. 1717. Son of Andrea Cappa. He was probably a pupil of Nicolo Amati, and is classed as one of the best of the Amati School. His violins have a noble tone and can easily be compared with those of G. B. Rogeri.
