    6. DALLA COSTA, PIETRO ANTONIO, Treviso, 1700 to 1768. Dalla Costa modeled his violins after those of the brothers Amati and Stradivarius; his workmanship is particularly clean-cut. He used a brownish red or a yellow varnish, and worked in both Mantua and Venice from about 1720 to 1757. His name and label have been misused by inferior makers, but there are several genuine specimens of his art in the possession of European collectors and dealers.
    7. D’AMBROSIO, ANTONIO, Naples, 1820.
