HORNSTEINER, FRANZ, 1782 to 1820. Franz Hornsteiner imitated the Klotz model closely, and used a yellow or a golden brown varnish. The tone is of an even mellow character, and the instruments resemble those of Andreas Jais, another well-known Mittenwald maker.
