    5. Zuerst soll er in Mantua ansässig gewesen sein. Seine Arbeit ist recht gut und erinnert manchmal an Guadagnini; er hat ein sehr flaches, langgestrecktes Modell bevorzugt, machte aber auch gelegentlich höhere Wölbungen. Besonders zu loben ist sein bernsteingelber oder orangeroter feuriger Lack. Die Schnecke ist klein, schwungvoll und tief ausgestochen. Das Holz ist meistens recht schön. Seine Geigen sind gute, hellklingende Orchesterinstrumente. Außer seinem Zettel verwendete er auch Brandmarken, unter anderen eine auf seinen Namen anspielende Sonne, die er auch auf seinen Zetteln gerne anbrachte.
