How Iron Wear Lost a Sale
Who Sells It?
How the City Directory is increasing the service it renders patrons by telling them where they can buy nationally advertised goods.
Have you, reader, had experience like that illustrated above with nationally advertised goods? Have you failed to receive a reply to your letter inquiring the name of the local dealer until long after you had lost the interest awakened by a well written advertisement, or had purchased some other similar goods at a convenient store?
Substitution
Or have you found trouble in getting nationally advertised goods when you asked for them? Perhaps a plausible salesman has said to you sometime, "No, we haven't that brand, but we have another just as good which sells for less money—because the manufacturers save the expense of advertising?"
Who Sells It Locally?
How many times on reading an advertisement in the Saturday Evening Post, or some other publication, have you said to yourself, "I wonder who sells that here?" If such things have happened to you, you will quickly appreciate this new section of the City Directory—which connects up nationally advertised trademark goods with their local dealers, so you can find them readily.
Any time you see fit—perhaps months after the advertisement which sold you on investigating the goods has passed away—you can locate the dealer.
