1COMPOSER TITLE, KEY & OP. GR. REMARKS
3Brahms, Johannes (Cont.)
4No. 8 in A Minor
5C [address hidden]. The first section is easy flowing with flautato bowing. It is repeated with an intensely warm tone an octave higher. Brilliant, sparkling and witty moments follow. The first idea returns but with all kinds of embellishments.
7No. 9 in E Minor
8C [address hidden] non troppo, rhythmically clear-cut. Meno mosso, caressingly playful. A tempo piu vivo, proud and virile. The end of the piece "evaporates," so to speak.
10No. 10 in G Major
11C [address hidden], fiery and spirited, also playful. Meno mosso, stately. The passages in 16ths are to be dainty and sparkling.
13Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78
14C [address hidden] ma non troppo π

₯ = 52. After an opening of reverent tenderness, the syncopation passages culminate in an enthusiastic forte. The con anima is warmhearted, becoming even passionate and dramatic. The grazioso teneramente is intimate and graceful, losing itself by way of the calando in the clouds. The piΓΉ sostenuto strikes a note of virile strength. A joyful and enthusiastic coda brings the movement to an end.
16Adagio, π
π
₯ = 56. The opening is warm and full, the violin entrance tenderly expressive. The piΓΉ andante π
π
₯ = 72 suggests a funeral march; but only for a short while. A heroic section follows. The piano part leads through ascending chords into a mood of mystery. The full-blooded and rich first theme comes back (Cont.)
