1COMPOSER TITLE, KEY & OP. GR. REMARKS
3Franck, César (Cont.) Sonata in A Major (Cont.) C [address hidden] poco mosso 𝅘𝅥 = 88. The opening is sunny and friendly, but builds up to sweep and enthusiasm. A theme of the previous movement appears, alternating with the opening idea of the movement. A playful and fleeting section opens with the p subito. The B-flat minor section suggests caressing tenderness. It is being followed by passages of great strength and rhythmical virility. Another theme of the preceding movement comes back (ff.) in its full glory and grandeur. Gradually a quieter mood returns and brings back the opening theme. The movement ends in a mood of triumph and exultation.
