COMPOSER TITLE, KEY & OP. GR. REMARKS
Elgar, Edward (Cont.)
Violin concerto in B Minor, Op. 61
C [address hidden] 𝅘𝅥 = 100, noble and distinguished. The many tempo changes call for great elasticity and imagination.
Andante 𝅘𝅥 = 52. A hymn of unassuming simplicity opens the movement and is later used as a background for the solo part. Sections of great loftiness and eloquence follow.
Allegro molto 𝅘𝅥 = 138, spirited and brilliant; also has sections of noble singing and affectionate tenderness. After the cadenza, which recalls themes of the first movement, the concerto builds up to a grandiose ending.
