It said Stainer's fame still continued to grow, and in 1669 King Leopold conferred upon him the title of Court violin maker, because, as the Diploma ran, "the repute of the trusty and beloved Stainer's good qualities and — trade term as printed: "violin maker" — surname not established — the line carries a trade term but no surname resolves to it — from OCR (read_as: ocr)
It now says nothing — the claim was withdrawn and not replaced.
